NIOST's Assessment of Program Practices Tool (APT) Now Online

The Assessment of Program Practices Tool (APT) is a quality assessment tool designed to help programs examines practices that research suggests are linked to youth outcomes. It can help answer questions like:

Are the children and youth in your afterschool program reaching academic or social outcomes?
Do classroom teachers believe the youth attending your program are making academic progress, successfully completing homework, and building other skills and behaviors needed for engagement in school?
Do the youth believe they are benefiting from your program and are feeling confident about their skills and future plans?

APT looks at the overall afterschool program, homework time, and activities with two comprehensive tools that combine observation and self-assessment. Part of NIOST's A Program Assessment System (APAS), it's easy to use and flexible. and available at no cost upon completion of a NIOST training that is now available online.
